The Lord’s Prayer

The Prayer that Jesus Taught

The Lord’s Prayer is the Prayer that Jesus Taught at the Sermon on the Mount.  The prayer addresses God as Father, acknowledges His holiness; and asks for his provisions and guidance.

Recognizing God’s intimate and personal relationship with believers seeking God’s Will, and aligning with His purposes.

This then, is how you should pray:

Our Father,

Who art in heaven,

Hallowed be Thy name,

Thy Kingdom come,

Thy Will be done.

On Earth as it is in Heaven,

Give us this day

Our Daily Bread,

And forgive us our trespasses

As we forgive those who trespass against us;

And lead us not into Temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.

For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, for ever.

Amen.

Matthew 6:9–13 and Luke 11:2–4
